ACLU On S.B. Council Social Media Ordinance

South Bend's proposed ordinance regulating social media behavior by Common Council members is drawing fire. Drop the effort… That's the message from the Indiana ACLU after reviewing the proposed ordinance regarding social media postings made by South Bend Common Council members. The South Bend Tribune reports ACLU attorney Ken Falk claims there are a number of unconstitutional provisions in the ordinance and that government cannot regulate what council members can post on their personal social media pages. The ordinance comes after council member Henry Davis Jr. posted an offensive picture of a man performing an act on a dog on his Facebook page earlier this year.
