Alejandro Cervantes is the winner of a prestigious Western Golf Association’s Chick Evans Scholarship. On February 11, 2021, Alejandro Cervantes was awarded an Evans Scholarship to Indiana University. He will pursue Biomedical Engineering or Pre-med in the fall.

Alejandro has been a caddie for the past four years at Tippecanoe Lake Country Club (TLCC) accomplishing 124 loops. He is a member of the Warsaw Cross Country team, National Honors Society, a regular volunteer at his church, and serves as a translator in the Warsaw community. Alejandro is the third Evans Scholar from TLCC to receive this prestigious scholarship.

This scholarship is a full-tuition and housing college scholarship for golf caddies. Since 1930, more than 11,000 men and women have graduated as Evans Scholars. Most recipients attend one of the 18 universities across the nation where the Evans Scholars Foundation owns and operates a Scholarship House. The state of Indiana supports two houses – Indiana University and Purdue University.

This scholarship is the largest privately-funded scholarship program in the country. WGA Directors, Indiana Golf Association member clubs and officials, and individual contributions help support this program in Indiana. Warsaw Community Schools would like to thank the caddie program and the TLCC Caddie Committee: Chairman, Chris Hoke, Tom Dormin, and Pete Smith for their recognition of Alejandro Cervantes.

Please join us in congratulating Alejandro on this outstanding achievement.
