The North Webster Town Council will hold a public meeting with the Tippecanoe Township Advisory Board at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the township building, 102 S. Morton St.

This meeting is the continuation of the hearing to establish a fire territory between the town of North Webster and Tippecanoe Township and the establishment of a fire territory equipment replacement fund.

The two government entities already held three public hearings on the fire territory. At the third and final meeting, the Tippecanoe Township Advisory Board voted 2-1 to approve a resolution moving forward with the territory. However, after North Webster Town Council President Lisa Strombeck made a motion to approve the resolution, the other two councilmen failed to provide a second to her motion and it died for lack of action.

The state’s deadline to approve a fire territory is Wednesday.
