The Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County will be closing to the public starting Wednesday until further notice amid the concerns over the coronavirus.

Executive Director Sally Scott made the announcement on Tuesday, stating that only essential staff and approved volunteers will only be allowed into the building. During this time, the AWL is asking to wait to surrender pets for at least four weeks unless it is an emergency.

The organization has also had to cancel events and they could lose critical funding during this time that helps keep the shelter running. They are encouraging those who cannot adopt or foster to donate on their website or Amazon Smile.

You can find more information at the AWL website.
