BMV refunding over $28 million to 5 million customers

INDIANAPOLIS — About 5 million Hoosiers are getting a payday from the Bureau of Motor Vehicle.

The BMV announced Friday that it has refunded $28.76 million to about 5 million people.

“Customers who were overcharged will find credits on their accounts that can be applied to their next transaction, or they can request a check from the BMV,” said Bureau of Motor Vehicles Commissioner Kent Abernathy. “We are currently determining the most efficient ways to contact customers about their refunds, including email notification, postcards, and online notification through BMV’s website.”

Customers can check to see if they are eligible for a refund by visiting the BMV’s website.
