UPDATE, Monday 9 a.m.:
The victim has been identified as Christopher Dixon. Officials say the 13-year-old boy was autistic. The possible drowning is still under investigation.
ORIGINAL STORY:
A 13-year-old boy was found dead in Lake Wawasee and Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating it as a possible drowning.
An Elkhart woman went to check on her son who had gone to bed at a Syracuse home. She was unable to find her son around 11:55 p.m. and asked her husband for help.
After searching for about a half an hour, he found his son submerged in the water near a pier by the house.
First responders were unable to revive the boy with CPR.
This incident is currently an open investigation by Indiana Conservation Officers.
