WARSAW — The city of Warsaw is moving forward with a developer on an $18 million mixed-use and housing project at the old Gatke site on McKinley Street.

The announcement was made Monday afternoon at the city redevelopment meeting.

Rebar Development has proposed renovating much of the existing warehouse on the property into a mixed-use building that would include commercial and office space.

The plan also includes the construction of a four-story apartment building with 75 units that will be intended for workforce housing.

Rebar will invest more than $11 million into the project with the city and the state covering the remaining portion, officials announced.
