Bristol Man Charged For Beating With A Bat

A Bristol man was arrested on battery charges Monday afternoon.
John Bradly Wood, 21, Pinebrook Drive, Bristol, was charged with causing bodily injury after using a baseball bat to beat a man who asked him to leave his home, according to a probable cause affidavit from the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office.
A Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department officer spoke with Cindy Schroll, who said John Wood and Gage Wood had wanted to spend the night at her residence. They were making a lot of noise, so Schroll’s husband, Kenny Ferguson, grabbed a baseball bat and asked them to leave, according to the affidavit.
They refused, and John Wood punched Ferguson in the face and took the bat from him. Both Gage and John Wood began beating Ferguson until he lost consciousness, the affidavit states. John Wood then broke the counter top with the baseball bat.
Ferguson said he woke up with pain and lacerations and swelling on his body including  his right temple, right shoulder, the back of his scalp, index finger and his stomach.
John Wood is currently being held in the Kosciusko County Jail with a $100,000 bond.
