Leesburg Dealing With Fuel Spill

The Leesburg Town Council is in the process of cleaning up a mess from Sunday evening.
During its monthly meeting Monday night, the council discussed a diesel fuel spill near Stacy’s Sports Inn, 309 S. Main St. The total quantity of fuel is unknown, but the board said it was estimated to be less than 10 gallons. The board is responsible for fixing this issue because they have a lease on the property.
“We have to take care of that problem,” board president Thomas Moore said.
The board noted that there are constantly trucks parked where the spill occurred. Board member Larry Richey said if anyone has any additional information regarding the diesel fuel spill, they should contact the board.
Indiana Bicentennial Committee co-chair Diane Wulliman discussed a few details for the upcoming bicentennial on Sept. 29, 2016. She said the effort from the county is currently underway. She said there is a torch relay being planned and it will travel along Ind. 15 from the Wabash County line to the Elkhart County line. She said any questions can be sent via IN200kos@gmail.com
The next bicentennial meeting will be at 10 a.m. March 18 in the basement of the County Justice Building.
The board wants to remind the town no parking is permitted on any street from 3 to 5 a.m. and there is no burning of anything allowed at anytime.
The next board meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. April 13 at the Leesburg Town Hall.
