Caucus for Milford Town Council set for tonight

MILFORD — A Republican caucus to fill a vacancy on the Milford Town Council is set for 6 p.m. tonight.

The council position became vacant after Robert Cockburn resigned. 

Two candidates have filed for the seat.

Candidates are James Smiley and Joseph Shetler.

Smiley has been a resident of Milford since 2006 and he manages two landscaping businesses

Shetler has lived in the Milford area for 50 years. He formerly served as the town’s building commissioner and is a retired heating and cooling technician, according to a report by the Times-Union.

He is also on the board for the Milford Food Bank.

The caucus will be held in the town council chambers.
