The Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday for A.H. Pain Relief Massage, 116 N. Buffalo St., Warsaw.

Owner Angie Holstein said they way she got into massage is because she rubbed a friend’s shoulders a long time ago and she was told she was good at it. Holstein tested out her skills and “it kept going and going” and she decided to do it professionally. She went to school at what is now is known as American College Massage School.

She did massage therapy in Mishawaka for six or seven years and then took a break. Then she was able to rent a room at her location and has been there for about six months.

She works from the neck to just under the glutes. She said it’s easier to have a niche when it comes to massage that way the person can really focus on those things and really master them.

For her sessions, which are an hourlong and cost $100, she starts with an assessment. Then she’ll go and put in hot stones and then use cups to see if there’s trigger points. After that, she will do a second assessment to see if something still needs work. Other equipment she uses includes a massage gun.

She said she hopes she can mainly provide people pain relief.

Hours are Fridays and Saturdays by appointment only. For appointments, people can call or text 574-780-2535.
