Child at center of Amber Alert in northwest Indiana has been found safe

GARY, Ind. (AP) — Authorities in northwestern Indiana say a 15-month-old boy who was taken from his Gary foster home at gunpoint has been found.

Gary police Lt. Dawn Westerfield said the toddler was kidnapped about 11:20 p.m. Monday by two unidentified males with their faces covered. Details about where the child was found late Tuesday wasn’t immediately disclosed by authorities.

The toddler was wearing a T-shirt and diaper when he was taken from the home. Westerfield says authorities are concerned for the safety and welfare of the toddler.

The (Munster) Times quotes investigators as saying the boy might be with his 15-year-old mother or his 17-year-old father.
