A four month long investigation ended last night when a 41-year-old man from Columbia City was arrested by the Indiana State Police on a child molesting charge.
The investigation started in early February after an allegation that Ty P. McElroy had sexually molested a 10-year-old girl between August 2010 and June 2011 in a home in Butler.
After collaborating with the Indiana Division of Child Services and the DeKalb County Prosecutor’s Office, an arrest warrant was issued for McElroy last week.
He was spotted driving on the west side of Butler and was stopped by police Tuesday night. McElroy was arrested without incident.
