Leesburg Man Dies in Early Morning Crash

Kosciusko County officers are currently investigating an early morning crash that claimed the life of a Leesburg man.

Officers from North Webster and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department were notified early this morning at 2:29 a.m. to be on the look-out for a white, 2007 Lincoln, driven by James E. Loser, 92, Leesburg.  Family members reported that he had left the residence in the 6900 block of Kalorama Road, Leesburg, driving the Lincoln.  Family members also reported that he suffered from dementia.

As officers were traveling to the Tippecanoe Lake area, a North Webster police officer located the Loser vehicle off the roadway near the area of EMS T40 lane and Kalorama Road.  Loser was located inside the crashed vehicle, semi-conscious, but once extricated, began to derogate and CPR was initiated performed by the North Webster/Tippecanoe Township E.M.S.  Kosciusko County Coroner Tony Ciriello was summoned to the scene of the crash, where James Loser was pronounced dead from what appears to be blunt force trauma injuries.

Kosciusko Count Fatal Team Reconstructionist after preliminarily determined that Loser had been travelling south on Kalorama Road, when he failed to negotiate a curve and ran off the, striking mailboxes, signs, and other items, before impacting a tree.
