National Volunteer Week is Next Week

Hoosiers can celebrate National Volunteer Week next week by donating their time to Indiana’s state parks.

DNR State Parks Volunteer Coordinator Jody Heaston says information about volunteer events and opportunities at specific properties is available at the DNR website or by calling the office at those properties.

Examples of volunteer opportunities include woodland window cleanup at Pokagon State Park this Sunday at 2pm, and the removal of non-native plants from Potato Creek April 29th starting at 9:30am.

—Pokagon State Park, April 23, 2 p.m.: Woodland Window Clean-up. For more information, call (260) 833-2012.

—Potato Creek State Park, April 29, 9:30 a.m.: Help remove non-native plants. For more information, call (574) 656-8186 ext. 250.
