The sound of music is about to fill the warm summer breezes off Winona Lake. Past favorites will join new artists for a series of concerts you will not want to miss. The 2019 Festival of Music includes a wide variety of music, from chamber music to jazz, and patriotic to southern gospel. Locals and guests will be able to experience great music as a part of their annual summer activities.

The summer melodies begin at the annual Art Fair on June 1 in the Village at Winona. Live chamber music will play while visitors browse the more than 75 art vendors from across the country. This event will also feature kids’ activities and food trucks. Visit www.villageatwinona.com/village-art-fair/ for updates and a weekend schedule as the event nears.

Music will continue in the Winona Heritage Room that evening. The Lakeland Chorus will perform at 7 p.m. in the Winona Heritage Room. This concert is free to the public.

On Saturday, June 29, a celebration of national independence will include the Symphony of the Lakes, a patriotic salute to enjoy before the highly anticipated fireworks display. The outdoor concert will begin at Tabernacle Park at 8 p.m.

A day of incredible improvisation will take place at the Jazz Fest on Saturday, July 27, beginning at 11 a.m. at Tabernacle Park.  A fantastic array of groups will perform throughout the day, including Dockside Dixieland Band, Alicia Pyle Quartet, and Grace Assistant Professor of Worship Arts Wally Brath and Friends.

The 2019 Jazz Fest is sponsored by Sweetwater Sound and will feature Chicago jazz trumpeter Orbert Davis.  The festival will offer beautiful scenery, great music, delicious food trucks and the opportunity to play instruments in the Mynett Music tent.

The Festival of Music will round out the summer with southern gospel music trio, the Booth Brothers. They will return to the Winona Heritage Room on Saturday, August 25, at 7 p.m. To purchase tickets, visit www.boothbrothers.com/event/8-25-19-winona-lake-in/
