The first of three sculptures recently added to the Winona Lake Heritage Trail was dedicated Tuesday afternoon.

The piece titled “Contemplative Seasons” includes three ceramic columns, a decorative bench, and a concrete pad on the Greenway extension off Pierceton Road in Winona Lake.

Sculptor and local art teacher Andy Tomasik says the columns reflect the experience of enjoying the fall, winter, and spring seasons in Winona Lake.

Members of the Tucker and Rice families funded the artwork. After reading that donors were being sought for this round of artwork, the family responded, and the accompanying bench where hikers can rest carries the inscription “Dedicated to the Tucker and Rice Family.”

Two more sculptures will be dedicated on successive Tuesdays.
