FRIDAY COVID UPDATE: State surpasses 100 deaths

Indiana has surpassed the triple-digit mark in COVID-19 related deaths as 24 additional people have died from the virus, putting the state up to 102 deaths.

The Friday update from the Indiana State Department of Health shows an additional 398 positive cases were reported, bringing the state total up to 3,437. There were 615 tests reported in the new update.

The state also gave a reminder that the number of tests is provisional and reflects only those reported to ISDH. Numbers should not be characterized as a comprehensive total.

Locally, Noble County is reporting two new positive cases, bringing their total up to five. Elkhart County has reported two more cases and their total is now 29, while Whitley County has one additional case and have four total.

Today’s update also included the three new cases that Kosciusko County reported Thursday afternoon, bringing the county total up to eight.

Indianapolis/Marion County continues to have the highest total of positive cases at 1,429, with Lake and Hamilton Counties reporting the second and third most positive cases at 244 and 220 respectively.
