The Warsaw Redevelopment Commission approved funding for a monument that will go into Rotary Park.

Two large cogs donated by Lewis Salvage will be a highlight of the park, which is set to be completed in 2019, just in time for the Warsaw Rotary Club’s 100th anniversary.

The Redevelopment Commission agreed to provide $20,000 for the project. The Warsaw Rotary Club is expected to contribute another $8,000 for the Cog Monument.

Assistant City Planner Justin Taylor says the cogs were used in local industry.

“[The monument] will be a good representation of the industrial history in Warsaw,” he explains.

Rotary is still fundraising for the park. You can order a Memorial brick as a way to contribute: https://polarengraving.com/WarsawrotaryClub
