Grace College Urges Students to Submit FAFSA

Grace College is making sure students are taking advantage of college aid by completing the FAFSA.

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid , the form by which federal and state governments determine students’ financial need, can significantly help cover the cost of college tuition, room and board.

To ensure eligibility for state grants, Indiana students should submit their FAFSA by March 10, 2017.  FAFSA applications may be completed online at www.fafsa.gov

Cindy Sisson, vice president for enrollment management and marketing at Grace College, encourages all college-bound students to apply to the school(s) of their choice and file their FAFSA as soon as possible.  “Applying to college should go hand-in-hand with filing a FAFSA,” Sisson said.  Students may include up to 10 college codes on their FAFSA; the code for Grace College is 001800.

“Students who are accepted to Grace and include code 001800 on their FAFSA will receive a personalized letter from us detailing the complete financial aid package we offer,” said Sisson.  An admissions counselor will call the student to answer any questions and ensure they understand all aid available to them.  Grace offers a variety of grants and scholarships to assist students beyond state and federal aid; 99 percent of Grace College students receive financial aid.

“We endeavor to make quality, Christian higher education accessible to as many students as possible,” said Dr. Bill Katip, president of Grace College. “We hope students and their families will take advantage of our helpful financial aid staff and online resources.  We realize the college application and financial aid process can be overwhelming.  We are here to assist in any way possible.”

In addition to financial aid, Grace College offers cost savings to students through tuition reduction each consecutive year of attendance, free textbook rentals for the duration of undergraduate studies and the opportunity to graduate in three years or add a master’s degree in four.
