The long-awaited Conklin Bay Trail and Boardwalk section of the Syracuse-Wawasee Trails is becoming a reality.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held Monday afternoon.
The state’s Next Level Trail Program was the final funding needed for the project, contributing a $1.1 million grant.
Once completed, the segment of trail will connect the Wawasee Area Conservancy Foundation education center to Syracuse, going along State Road 13.
