It’s been made official. This week, the Winona Lake Town Council voted to move forward with the development of an ice rink pavilion that has been in the works for two years.

The rink, along with a multi-use pavilion, will be built in the old location of the Billy Sunday Tabernacle on Park Street, across from the Winona Lake Post Office. Overall, it will be a 180 by 120 foot pavilion with a 120 by 60 foot ice rink in the center of it. The cost of the project is $6.5 million, with a helping hand from the K21 Health Foundation giving the village $1.5 million.

Officials will be hosting a groundbreaking this afternoon at 12 PM.
