Local unemployment sees little changes to start 2021

Local unemployment rates had very little movement, but remains on an improved rate starting out 2021.

The latest data from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development shows Kosciusko County unemployment rates went up one-tenth of a percentage point to 3.6 in January from December. Labor force in the county, including those employed and those actively seeking employment, was 41,163, down about 100 from December.

Elkhart and Wabash County remained unchanged, while Marshall, Fulton and Whitley Counties saw a slight rise. Indiana’s unemployment rate in January was 4.2 percent, down from 4.6 percent in December.
