Incumbent Mayor Joe Thallemer answered questions submitted by community members at the Warsaw Mayoral Candidate Debate at Lakeview Middle School Thursday night.

He discussed a wide array of topics including infrastructure, housing, workforce, and the city’s police and fire departments.

Thallemer focused on both past achievements and the future of the city.

“I’m really proud of the fact that this community has shown really positive growth in the past eight years,” he explains. “We’re very fortunate that we have the two largest orthopedic manufacturers in the world, and having all of that support industry, people want to come to Warsaw, you know we’re blessed– but we can’t take it for granted.”

At the same time, City Councilman Ron Shoemaker held his Listening Tour event at the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds. You can get details about that event here.

Both events brought similar size crowds of over 50 people.
