Indiana Lawmaker Wants To Make It Easier For Residents To Carry A Handgun

In the wake of President Barack Obama’s plea for further gun control, one Indiana lawmaker wants to make it easier for you to carry a handgun. Republican State Representative Jim Lucas of Seymour introduced a bill that would allow Hoosiers to carry a handgun without a license Tuesday. House Bill 1056 would repeal the law requiring gun owners to obtain a handgun permit to carry. He also introduced House Bill 1055, which would prohibit state agencies from regulating firearms in their buildings or land, with exceptions for individuals in corrections, forensic, or pretrial diversion programs. Lucas has successfully pushed for fewer firearm regulations in the past.
