Indiana & Purdue Name Leaders

Indiana and Purdue universities have named officials to lead talks between the two schools on the future management of Indiana-Purdue-Fort Wayne. The announcement this week comes a month after a study by the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership recommended a shift in governance of the Fort Wayne campus from Purdue to IU because the latter has eight regional campuses and the institutional infrastructure to administer them. Purdue Vice President for Public Affairs Julie Griffith will lead talks for her school, while IU will be represented by Mike Sample, its vice president for public affairs and government relations. IU spokesman Mark Land tells The Journal Gazette and The Herald-Times that the two schools have agreed to hold preliminary discussions and haven't made any decisions on the future management of IPFW.
