Indiana Ranks Last In Water Pollution

A new report claims Indiana has worse water pollution than any other state. The study by the Environment America Research and Policy Center shows Indiana released nearly 18 million pounds of toxic waste to waterways. But the numbers only measure waste from industrial facilities and doesn’t include data from oil, gas and agriculture industry pollutants, which could skew the data analyzed in Environment America’s report. The same Environment America report showed that when toxicity is compared to pounds of toxic waste released, Indiana improves to 15th place.
