Indiana Tech Bowling Teams Involved in Tour Bus Rollover, Several Injuries Reported

 Police say numerous people have been injured in the crash of a tour bus on Interstate 65 in Clark County.

The accident occurred Thursday morning just before 11:00 a.m., on southbound I-65 just north of Henryville, Indiana.

Indiana Tech officials issued the following alert:

Campus Alert:

A bus carrying 16 members of our men’s and women’s bowling teams and coaching staff has been involved in an accident on the way to USBC Sectional Competition in Smyrna, TN. What we know at this time: Emergency responders are on the scene. No official information is yet available about condition of individual passengers. More information will be posted as soon as it becomes available. 

 

 


Scottie Maples of the Clark County Sheriff's Department says there are reports of “multiple injuries'' in the accident, but the extent of the injuries is unknown.


A Clark County sheriff's office dispatcher says a total of six medical choppers have been called to the scene, about 20 miles north of Louisville, Kentucky. Indiana State Police Trooper Mary Sanchez tells the News and Tribune that ground ambulances also were on the scene.
