Several states have been told to expect far fewer doses of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine in its second week of distribution, but the reason remains a mystery as the company said Thursday, Dec. 17, that its production expectations remain unchanged.(AP Photo/Elaine Thompson, File)

The Kosciusko County Health Department is scheduling appointments to administer the next round of COVID-19 vaccinations here starting next week.

This wave of vaccinations is being offered to people 80 years and over, healthcare workers and first responders who have direct contact with the public.

A photo ID, proof of age or verification of current employment as a healthcare worker or first responder in Indiana will be required, and the health department is also encouraging you to bring your insurance card. The shots will be given at the

K21 Health Services Pavilion on Provident Drive on the KCH campus. Vaccinations will begin Monday, Jan. 11. If you are qualified, register by calling 2-1-1 or by visiting www.ourshot.in.gov.

The shot is free but there could be an administrative charge to insurance.
