Several county non-profits presented their budget requests for 2022 at Tuesday’s Kosciusko County Commissioners meeting, but one of them losing all funding from one area organization.

Executive Director of Kosciusko Community Senior Services David Neff says his budget is taking a hit for the upcoming year after losing their funding from the United Way of Kosciusko County. Neff said when he started six years ago, funding was in the six digits, but that has since gone down since:

Neff read off the letter from the United Way that was sent to him and other non-profits explaining changes in funding to non-profits, with the UW taking steps to become a stronger resource to children and families. Neff says his interpretation of that:

Neff requested $40,000 from the county, higher than the $31,000 the organization received in 2020.
