Special Olympics Indiana Kosciusko County athletes competed in the Area 5 Sectional basketball tournament Saturday at Logansport High School.
The Kosciusko County Panthers played against the White County Lakers, losing 39 to 17 in the single elimination tournament ending their season.
County Coordinator Becky Walls praised coach Chris Wilson for the job he did with the team this past year.
In the skills competition, local athletes placed as follows in their respective divisions: Martha Sullivan (2nd), Joe Bradley (2nd), Robert Svinarich (4th), Sandy Hunter (3rd), Jim Nuell (2nd), Michelle Ousley (3rd), Sandy Bibler (3rd), Mary Bicknell (4th) and Sharon Singleton (2nd).
Special Olympics Kosciusko County will be starting track and field and bocce with practice beginning Tuesday at Dewamac Park in Warsaw.
