Six Year Sentence Given To Warsaw Child Molester

A Warsaw man was sentenced to six years in prison on child molesting charges this morning. Circuit Court Judge Michael W. Reed accepted Mariano Sanchez Medina’s plea agreement and sentenced him to six years at the Indiana Department of Corrections. According to a probable cause affidavit filed by the prosecutor’s office, an officer met with the victim’s mother on July 31. She told officers that Medina asked to watch a movie, and when she went to check on Medina, 24, and her daughter, who was younger than 14, she witnessed her daughter jump off the bed and pull her pants up. Medina was only wearing boxer shorts. The mother also said she saw Medina inappropriately touch her daughter prior to this incident. The victim told officers Medina was trying to have sex with her, according to the affidavit. Medina has approximately 293 days of credit from the Kosciusko County jail. He also must pay a $100 fine and register as a sex offender.
