The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a telephone scam their office has received multiple complaints about.

Sgt. Chris Francis posted on the department’s Facebook page stating callers have reported getting a phone call from someone identifying themselves as a deputy with the sheriff’s office. After identifying themselves, the suspect is informing people that a warrant has been issued for their arrest for failing to report to jury duty.

The suspect is telling people they must either turn themselves in to the sheriff’s office or purchase a money card from Walmart. Francis said the suspect is using the real name of an active-duty deputy and a judge. If you receive a call like this, hang up and report it to the sheriff’s department.
