Lewis H. Scherer, of Graceville, FL and formally of Silver Lake, IN, passed away at Southeast Health Medical Center in Dothan, AL at the age of 88.

Lewis was born on April 12, 1934 in Silver Lake, IN, the son of LeRoy and Viola (McGowen) Scherer. A hard worker, he earned his bachelor’s degree and worked for NASA as an engineer. In fact, he was awarded for his involvement in the first Saturn launch. Lewis loved to spend time outside in his garden and was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army.

Lewis is survived by 12 nieces and nephews and 1 sister. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 nephew, 2 brothers, and 1 sister.

Care of Lewis is entrusted to Titus Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw. His memorial service will be held at Titus Funeral Home and Cremation Services. The service will begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2022 with a visitation for one hour prior. Burial will follow at Lake View Cemetery in Silver Lake.
