Locations decided for new communication towers in Kosciusko County

An update was brought forward Tuesday on the project of building more communication towers in the county.

Terry Burnworth from Pyramid Consulting came forward at Tuesday’s County Commissioners Meeting to get approval to get documents and bidding together for three public safety towers, along with an alternate for three broadband towers.

County Administrator Marsha McSherry mentioned the tower locations have been determined, one at Warsaw Community High School, another other near Claypool Elementary, and the third still to be determined, but the county will have to purchase land for that tower. Two areas of land have been approved for appraisal.

Commissioner Cary Groninger said there was property north of Dewart Lake, where the property owner there approved of a price per acre. The county just needs to complete a formal survey there.
