Closing the book on a Steuben County murder as a Fremont man is sentenced for obstruction of justice in a July 2013 case. 19-year old Lucas Baxla was sentenced to 18 months for getting rid of a gun that was used to shoot and kill Ruben Sanchez Jr. of Munice. Two others involved in the case have also been sentenced. In June, 19-year old Tyler Biggs received 15 years for conspiracy to commit murder. Biggs admitted he handed the gun to 28-year old Mark Hines who later shot and killed Sanchez at Jimmerson Lake. Hines was given a 45-year sentence.
