INDIANAPOLIS – Maple Leaf Farms of Leesburg is the second-ever winner of the “Coolest Thing Made in Indiana” tournament.

Maple Leaf Farms was named the winner of the second annual tournament during the 2022 Best IN Manufacturing Awards Luncheon in Indianapolis on Wednesday, and is being recognized for its “Roast Half Duck.”

According to Maple Leaf Farms, the roast half duck is a fully-cooked dish that saves chefs time and allows consumers to create a restaurant-quality meal at home for their families.

Founded in 1958, Maple Leaf Farms has grown to 900 employees and produces about 40 percent of the nation’s duck supply.

The tournament final featured two Kosciusko County companies, with the runner-up being Polywood of Syracuse. Polywood received praise for its “Elevate 12-Piece Pit Sectional.”

The winner of the first tournament was Janus Motorcycles of Goshen.

Meanwhile, the inaugural rankings for “Indiana’s Best Places to Work in Manufacturing” were also revealed at Wednesday’s luncheon. Two Michiana companies made it into the rankings — Wag’n Tails Mobile Conversions of Granger (No. 8) and Lippert of Elkhart (No. 12).
