Memorial For Teen’s Death Trying To Save Friend

Hundreds of mourners released balloons in a central Indiana high school's colors from its football field to end a memorial service for one of two teenagers who died after trying to rescue a friend from a river. Seventeen-year-old Jason Moran's teammates on the Franklin Community High School football team stood together wearing their jerseys as the blue and white balloons floated skyward Wednesday evening. Moran's uncle Don Burton tells the Daily Journal the family is proud that he wanted to rescue others. Sixteen-year-old Michael Chadbourne also died after trying to help Sarah McLevish, who was swept over a dam Friday and has been hospitalized in critical condition.
