Michael J. Kocik

Michael J. Kocik, 90, of Warsaw, died Monday July 25, 2022 at Peabody Rehabilitation & Retirement Community in North Manchester.

Mike was born in Detroit Michigan on May 22, 1932, the son of (the late) Michael J. Kocik, Sr. and Mary (Drotar) Kocik. On August 14, 1993, he married Lutie (Vanover) Kocik in Milford. Mike was a retired Supervisor for General Motors Corp. and a member of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church. After retirement, Mike and his wife moved to Lady Lakes FL where he was active in the local Episcopal church, serving as a Eucharistic Minister. He enjoyed the time he spent with family & friends, bowling, playing golf, cheering on his Detroit Lions, or simply joining his grandchildren on a Saturday morning to watch cartoons.

Mike is survived by his wife of 28 years, Lutie Kocik; his daughter, Paula (Robert) Wolfe of Pinckney MI; stepson, Earl (Carmen) Evans of Columbia City and his grandchildren, Dayna (Justin) Switzenberg and Kiera (James) Bishop, both of Pinckney MI, Tye (Angel) Evans of Spokane WA, Jayma (Steven) Muston of Fort Wayne, Tyler (Brooks) Smith of Warsaw and several great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mike was also preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Kocik and his sister, Dorothy Kocik.

Funeral Services 11:00 Friday July 29, 2022 in St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, 424 W. Market St. Warsaw, IN 46580. Visitation will be Friday from 10-11am in the church. Arrangements through McHatton Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Ct. There will be a private family inurnment in Oakwood Cemetery at a later date.
