The parent company of an area healthcare provider is accused of providing illegal access to computer software.
Microsoft has filed a lawsuit against Community Health Systems, the company that owns Lutheran Health Network, which operates Kosciusko Community Hospital.
The Journal Gazette reports that the lawsuit, which is seeking at least $75,000 although an exact amount has not been disclosed, claims the company provided illegal access of software licenses by sharing them with former CHS subsidiaries or affiliates, specifically Microsoft’s volume licensing program.
The company is also accused of fighting an independent auditor that was hired to look into alleged violations of copyright and licensing agreements.
A CHS spokesperson declined to comment.
