Midwest Storms Affecting Gas Prices

There was a big jump in gas prices yesterday. A regular gallon of unleaded gas started the day around $2.12, but by the end of the day cost well over $2.30. A power outage caused by thunderstorms that rolled through the Midwest has shut down a crude oil unit at a refinery in Wood River, Illinois, and that is being blamed for the increase. Phillips 66 would not comment on when those repairs would be completed and the unit put back online.
