Millersburg Arson Arrest

A Millersburg man has been arrested in connection with a house fire earlier this month.

38 year-old Kevin Riegsecker was arrested late last week on a preliminary charge of arson in connection with the blaze on the 100 block of Clinton Street in Millersburg. According to court documents, Riegsecker was living with another person and some dogs in the house. The home’s other resident said that the night of the fire, Riegsecker suggested they take a walk or a car ride with the dogs. While they were driving away from the house, Riegsecker told the other resident he had set the house on fire. Shortly after they left the home, Millersburg-Clinton Fire Territory Chief Dean Smith, who lived next door to the home, reported the fire. The investigation showed the blaze started with an accelerant trail in the kitchen, which continued through the dining room and living room, ending at a one-gallon gas can
