Motorist injured after car clips pole near Warsaw

\WARSAW — A single-car crash near the Kosciusko County Highway Garage left one person injured.

The accident happened shortly before 4:30 p.m. on CR 300E just north of Old Road 30.

A four-door blue Chevrolet headed south on CR 300E left the roadway, sheared off a utility pole and rolled at least once before coming to rest about 90 feet from the impact point.

The driver was thrown out of the vehicle and landed a few dozen feet further to the south in a front yard.

A resident whose home is close to the utility pole said the collision sounded “like a bomb.”

A medical helicopter landed in a front yard close to the crash scene.

The immediate condition of the person was unknown.

Other details were not yet available.

Departments responding to the crash included Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory, Kosciusko County Sherrif’s Office and the Pierceton Police.
