The American Diabetes Association has announced that National Get Fit, Don’t Sit Day will be May 6th. The engagement focuses on encouraging everyone to limit the amount of time they spend sitting by making sure they get up and get moving at least every 90 minutes throughout the work day. To celebrate National Get Fit, Don’t Sit Day, the Association is asking businesses to join them in the celebration and choose specific activities for employees to get up and get moving throughout their day. The American Diabetes Association is leading the fight to Stop Diabetes and its deadly consequences and fighting for those affected by diabetes. There are 750,000 Hoosiers living with diabetes and 1.7 million more are at high risk to develop type 2 diabetes.
