GOSHEN — A North Webster man died after a three-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon in Elkhart County.

WNDU reports 20-year-old Kaiden Ruff died at the scene of the accident.

The accident occurred at 4:16 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of CR 17 and Ind. 119, according to an Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.

Ruff was traveling northeast on a Yamaha FZ6 on Ind. 119 at the intersection with CR 17, and collided with a Chevrolet Traverse, driven by Brenda Gonzalez Gutierrez, 31, Elkhart.

The news release said Ruff disregarded a red light at the intersection and the front end of the Traverse hit the right side of the motorcycle. Ruff was thrown from the motorcycle.

The Yamaha slid through the intersection and hit the front end of a Dodge Avenger.

Ruff was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet, the release said.

Gutierrez complained of pain, and was taken to Goshen General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
