One of two man accused of murdering Plymouth-area man pleads guilty

One of two men accused of murdering a Marshall County man last year has pleaded guilty.

Gauvin Monaghan pleaded guilty to murdering Paul Costello in November 2016. He’ll be sentenced in December and faces a sentencing range of 45 to 65 years in prison.

He, along with 19-year-old Maeson Coffin were arrested in Watertown, New York, just one day after the 78-year-old man’s body was discovered at his Plymouth-area farm. Both Coffin and Monaghan were found in Costello’s stolen vehicle in New York.

The two men rented a house from Costello on his property.

Coffin’s case is still pending. He’s set for a jury trial on Jan. 9.
