Police Bicycle Ride Benefit

A group of about 60 active and retired police officers are going on a bicycle ride around Indiana to benefit the families and co-workers of colleagues who have died in the line of duty. Cops Cycling for Survivors began its trip Monday from the Law Enforcement/Firefighter Memorial near the Statehouse in downtown Indianapolis. Their trip is scheduled to last 13 days and cover nearly 1,000 miles. The annual trip is intended to benefit surviving family members and co-workers of officers killed while on duty. Money raised previously has been donated to 20 survivor support organizations, scholarships and camps. This year's ride honors Indianapolis Officer Rod Bradway, who was shot and killed last September responding to a domestic dispute. Bradway is survived by his wife and two children.
