It appears last week’s triple shooting at the Stratford Commons apartment complex in Elkhart may have stemmed from a dispute between neighbors.

According to Elkhart Police the suspect, 76-year-old Lawrence Faso, was angry about smoke entering his apartment when two of the people police say he shot were grilling. 66-year-olds Gail Shield and Jon Malk, as well as a 45-year-old woman who works at the complex were allegedly shot by Faso who took his own life.

The employee is still hospitalized in critical condition.
