Indiana State Police say investigators suspect foul play in the death of an inmate at the Miami Correctional Facility.
Police say prison staff found 70-year-old Lannie Morgan of South Bend unresponsive in his cell about 9:40 a.m. Monday. An ambulance was summoned for Morgan, but he died before reaching a local hospital.
Police are treating the death as a homicide. An autopsy has been conducted and results are pending.
Morgan had been incarcerated within the Indiana Department of Correction since December 2011.
