A stand-off between local law enforcement and a Mentone man is said to have ended peacefully.
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deputies and Mentone Police responded to the 5000 West block of C.R. 525 S in Mentone around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
A man had shut himself inside with a firearm and was threatening “suicide by cop”. Officers say he had also been shooting a long gun.
The stand-off lasted several hours and included extensive cell phone calls between officers and the man, but he eventually gave himself up.
The man was taken to a health facility for evaluation. It is unclear at this time if there will be any charges against him.
